Education in Vietnam and the United States

            Nowadays, many students in Vietnam as well as all around the world travel to the US to study. Have you ever wondered why? For instance, students in Vietnam think that the education in Vietnam and the US are different in the teaching equipment, teaching method and learning method.

            The teaching equipment in Vietnam and the US are not the same. On the one hand, schools or universities in the US have high quality of teaching with modern equipment, so students can have a lot of opportunities to study in the laboratory. It leads to the fact that they can show the full potential that they have as well as their study can be improved. On the other hand, schools or universities in Vietnam have low quality of teaching with poor equipment, and the students usually complain about the equipment. That affects a lot to their study because they don’t have good quality of equipment to practice, so their study can’t be improved.

            In addition to the teaching equipment, the teaching method between Vietnam and the US are disparate. In the US, the lessons that teachers teach students in the class are so efficient. Beside teaching theory, the teacher gives students a lot of opportunities to practice in the laboratory. As a result, students can comprehend what teachers teach in the class. However, in Vietnam, the teacher just teaches students the theory. The teacher doesn’t give students any chance to practice, so their comprehension can’t be improved.

            Beside the teaching method, the learning method between Vietnam and the US are totally inconsistent. In the US, when teachers give assignment to students, teachers usually let students do the assignment in a group, so students can raise their teamwork skills. When they get some troubles, they can ask each other for some help. However, in Vietnam, students usually have to complete their assignment alone. So they can’t do well in the project and they can’t improve their teamwork skill.

            As we have seen, the education in Vietnam and the US are clearly contrasting in the education system, teaching method and learning method. So students can have lots of benefits when they study in the US. That’s really beneficial for them in the future when they get jobs.
