A basketball match-Lee

It was a sunny afternoon when my teammates and I went to the basketball court. We arrived very late because we thought we would win the game very easily. We wouldn’t have to warm-up or practice but we didn’t care because we knew it would be an easy game. Soon after we arrived, it was time to play. With the sound of the whistle, the game had begun.

Of course, we got the first point. However, to our surprise, we got some problems. We had too many turnovers. That meant they got many easy points. When the first half was over, the score was 27-17. To our surprise, we were losing. We felt confused and our captain got very angry. “Don’t you feel ashamed? Look at the score! Can you believe it? Come on! Guys! We must win the match! We need to pass the ball more. Don’t shoot until you have a good opportunity. Be careful, and trust your teammates. It’s our time!”

The second half began.

The point guard dribbled cross the court. Suddenly, he passed the ball to the center. He shot, and it was in! After that, we felt confident. We showed our tough defense and become aggressive. We believed that we were the winners! When only one minute was left, the score was 40-40.

Everyone became a little nervous and excited. We wanted to win the match and the opponents also didn’t want to lose. We controlled the time, and dribbled cross the court slowly. At this point, we would not leave any chances to the opponents. The point guard passed the ball to the shooting guard and the center ran along the baseline. He got the ball. He shot! We all watched as the ball flew through the air. The clock seemed to freeze and everything was silent. Tick tock, tick tock. I held my breath and stretched my arms in front of the opponents. It was in! We won!

We were excited. After that, we knew that, at the beginning of every game, we should calm down and try our best to prepare the match. Every opponent should be ready to do their best.
