Lost and found in the Zoo
I still remember that day as if it was yesterday, the confusion in my
mind and all the people
around. That was how a nice day became to
be gray.
I remember that I was in the
zoo looking for the monkeys with my
mommy and in the next second
I was lost. I remember the animals
around, turtles, birds, kings
and more. I remember how happy I
felt looking at things that I had never seen before.
I was only four years old,
too little to talk very well with people and too
scared to talk with
strangers. What could I do? Where was my
mommy? These were the
questions in my mind that made me make the best
decision look for my mom!
After I took that decision, I started to walk, but that zoo was too big for
my little eyes and everything
was confusing for my young mind.
I built up enough courage and
decided to go
back to the last place that I
remembered I saw my mom, wishing that
she was there too. I felt nervous
and confused bit I kept searching hoping I would
find her.
After I ran around for 15 or
20 minutes I was anxious, exhausted, birthing heave
nut with the hope to find my
mom.
I saw a lady with a blue
dress and curly hair like my mom. Is it her? My heart
started to pound really fast.
I yelled “mommy! mommy!” and the lady turned
to see.
I started to cry by the time
that her arms hugged me. It was her, it was my
dear mommy who returned to
that place trying to find me. She was the
same or more scared than I
was.
She hugged me really strong
and that made feel safe. I still remember
how much loved and protected
I felt when I finally found her, Her eyes were wet,
she was crying but not
because she was sad if not because she was feeling that
her heart was back, she had a
huge smile on her face showing her happiness to
found me.
That was one of the many times that I could
see how much she cared for
me and she still does it.
Definitely a mother's love is
incomparable!!!
you must have a great mother!

Carmina,
ReplyDeleteThe memory of strong feelings (like the fear you felt in your story) can stay with us forever. Isn't it amazing how our memory works like that?
