How I chose my major

    Have you decided your major yet? Now, when I think about my major, I feel that I am such a lucky person, because of the choice that I made. I remember I have decided different choices in my life that led me to decide on my major.

    When I was a high school student, my teacher asked our class” who knows how to paint?” I answered “I do”. So my teacher suggested us to be art students. I chose to be an art student.

     The art students should  take two university entrance tests. The first was an objects tests, it was about math, biology, and physics. The next was a painting test. After I passed the two tests, I became university student. I would choose my major. I knew my major almost about art, like painting and art history. But I chose a different focus as an art major because of the specialty of my hometown.

 Sapphire

 

    My hometown is Wei Fang city in Shan Dong province. I live in Chang Le which is the first place to find a special stone named sapphire. It different kinds of blue, some look like sky blue, navy-blue and Ocean blue. Sapphire is so beautiful. In China, just my hometown has this stone. I like it. So I chose my major about how to survey the special stone. In my university it is named Jewelry design. I learned about many different unusual gemstones in my university. When I finished my major program, maybe I could have a job about gemstone in China. I am an active person, so I wanted to go abroad to experience other place.

                                                                         Metal

    When I arrived in the USA, I chose the same major-Jewelry. Metal and gemstone have a relationship because when you find a special stone, you should make different kinds metals to cover it. Then my friend talked about our major with me. We think we were so lucky, because we can choose our favorite jewelry.

    Now, when I think about our choices in our majors, I feel they are important for us. I know how to draw so I chose to be an art student. Because of the sapphire from my hometown, I decide to study Jewelry Design. Finally, I want to know much information about stone of metal. So I chose the metal program. In our life, every choices have a relationship and connection, so get ready for your next choices in your life.
