My semester in New Paltz

Do you know the New Paltz? I had never heard it until I prepare to apply the SUNY New Paltz. I spend the special semester in there that is a peaceful village. There are nice people, beautiful scenery and interesting activity.

   China has a famous word that is a place propitious for giving birth to great men. It is appropriate to describe New Paltz. Everyday I am so happy in there, the most important reason is people are friendly. At the start of the semester, I have some problems to pay the tuition fee and how to deal with. The kind staff is patient to tell me how to do and write some suggestions for me. She did not mind that my English is not good meanwhile listen to me carefully. Living in a foreign country, however, this experience does not make me feel lonely at all.

   Before I came here, I have heard New Paltz has great scenery. During the semester I have a chance to go hiking, in the strict sense, I think this is unforgettable adventure. There are two ways to climb to the top, one of way is very safe and the scenery along the road is also pretty, but the other one is very challenging. If it was before, I do not hesitate to choose the safe one, however, I chose the other one. This way is made of the different shape rocks, and we need climb the rocks to arrive to the top of mountain. Climbing is an exhausting thing, so we encouraged each other. Finally, we even climbed with roll to the top. When I overlooked the whole New Paltz on the top, I was so excited about the glamorous view. Taking a deep breath, you will feel the soul is purified. I loved the adventure.

   In the semester, my most of time spent on ESL. I studied in there and it is my main part of life. There is not only offer English education of the high quality, but also have a lot of interesting activity. I feel that learn English is happy and enjoyed it. Conversation table that contained learning and entertainment is very classical. If I have time, I would go. Thanksgiving Dinner is the most impressed activity for me. AS an international student, I am curious about the American traditional food. On that day I not only tasted them, but also knew the history of Thanksgiving Day. Meanwhile, various countries student get together to communicate and learn how to use different languages to speak ‘thanks’. It is a meaningful activity.

   Time is fleeting and the semester is will to end, there are full of the good memory t in my mind. In three months I gained the knowledge and enriched the experience. Now I have adapted the life and the speed of learning in New Paltz. I am hopeful to the future.
